🧠 If I were to re-start my business here’s what I’d focus on

Expert Niche:

I didn’t spend enough time at the start really honing in on what made my expertise unique and specifically how I help my target audience.

It’s taken me years to realise everything I do is about turning the business into a money-making-machine to free the person up to enjoy the work.

If I’d have realised this sooner I’d have grown faster.

Collaborate:

I’d reach out to people offering services that compliment my own with audiences that overlap and invite them to collaborate.

We’d brainstorm fun ways to bring our audiences together and add killer value.

This would have strengthened my community, increased my reach, and built credibility way faster.

Cornerstone Content:

I’d invest the time making long-form videos, blogs, and pinterest pins answering the most common questions about my key messaging pillars by storymining ideas.

This content stands the test of time and could have been attracting way more warm prospects into my business over the past 5 years.

Share Opinions:

I would share my opinions on what works, what doesn’t, what’s crap, what to focus on, what to leave out.

I’d also have been more vulnerable and shared my highs-and-lows to bring my audience on the journey of building this business.

It’s these posts that create real connection.

Business Optimisation

It took me 4 years to realise my back-end systems were leaving money and email subscribers on the table and fix it.

If I’d have put my Sticky Systems and Business Ecosystem in place sooner my business would have grown faster.

Behind The Scenes

I’d definitely have been sharing exactly who I was working with, the work we were doing together, the progress they were making and results they were getting from working with me Way More!

I haven’t done this anywhere near enough over the past 5 years but, since I’ve started doing it, it’s 100% brought new clients in!

CAVEAT

The caveat to all of this is that ‘my-journey-was-my-journey’ and it’s brought me to where I am today.

Could I have got here faster? Yes, sure I could.

Would I have missed valuable lessons if I did? Maybe.

I often think there is a danger of growing too fast and having the responsibility of big client delivery before you’re ready.

I also firmly believe that as our businesses grow, we grow into them, and lots of things naturally evolve and flex over time – which I think is 100% necessary.

What I do believe is that if I’d put this stuff in place from the start, I’d have seen better and more consistent progress from year 2 on.

As it is, my progress has been up-and-down like a yo-yo on crack and lots of stuff has been way harder than it needed to be.

I’m sharing this in the hope that you’ll take some of it on board so that your path will be smoother, your growth steadier, and your wellbeing stronger.
