What is positioning?
It’s the place your brand/business occupies in the minds (and hearts) of your community and clients, and how you are distinguished from the services of competitors.
Your position is determined largely by:
- Your tone, personality, brand voice, colours, fonts and formats
- How you describe your clients, the work you do, and your offers
- How you educate, inspire, and shift belief in your messaging
By now you probably have a lot of this in place, but in my experience there are always opportunities to refine and improve how we’re perceived ‘out there’.

If you’ve been under a rock for the past 6+ months: Chat GPT is a AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations and much more with the chatbot. It can answer questions and assist you with tasks like composing emails, social media campaigns, sales pages, blogsAnd So Much More!!!
I’m just scratching the surface with this incredible tool and have recently picked up some incredible prompts to uplevel my business.
Here’s one for today:
To understand where your brand/business really sits in your competitive space at the moment, and to gain inspiration to uplevel your messaging, offers, pricing and more…simply cut and paste this prompt into Chat GPT:
I want you to act like an analysis / auditor. I want you to perform an analysis of [your business/brand] with the following top 5 competitors [enter names of 5 competitors].I need you to assess the differences and similarities between [your business/brand] and [five competitors].I need you to focus on pricing, market positioning, branding and messaging. Research the relevant market and analyze each brand to identify key differences and similarities. Present all the information in a detailed report that includes charts, graphs and tables. Based on all the information, let me know how [your business/brand] can improve and actionable steps we can take to make [your business/brand] be better than [competitors].
I did this last night using competitors I’d considered to be ‘way above me’ and was delighted to discover that, when reading the analysis, we look to be on a very level playing field.
I did pick up on a few areas that could do with strengthening in my brand so I’m working on it.

📝 SIDE NOTE: don’t fear competitor research. It’s really important that you know where you are positioned against both your closest competitors and the ‘leaders’ in your field. This information can help you make informed decisions in terms of your own positioning, messaging, offers, pricing and more.
