For most business owners I talk to, having to ‘make sales’ brings them out in a cold sweat.

You know you’ve got to do it, but it’s the part of the business you hate – it doesn’t come naturally and it always leaves a bitter taste in your mouth – even when the sale is successful!

There are quite a few reasons you may feel this way (comment below if you’d like me to go into them in a different blog), but for now I’m going to focus on how to flip this feel of dread around.

Picture this…

You’ve landed a call with your dream client to talk about your offer.

In the run-up to the call, you’re excited and really looking forward to the start of what could be a beautiful and mutually beneficial relationship.

The conversation is flowing as you get to know each other and discover how best you’re able to support this dream client in front of you.

You powerfully serve your future client by opening them up to the real possibility of change – what that would look and feel like, the results they’d get and the impact it will have on their lives.

You both start to get more and more excited, because your client’s life is about to change for the better and you’re going to get to do the thing you love!


You delve deeply into their current challenges, getting to the heart of the real issues and gently guiding them through the solutions that await when you get started.

You’re confident in your offer and pricing, and know for sure that you can impact their lives for the better.

The chat flows through to your dream client saying those magical words:

‘This all sounds brilliant and I’m definitely keen – how does it work?’

Without missing a beat you’re both celebrating their good choice, and the flow continues with you going through the best option for them, what’s included and the investment required.

There are some concerns, it’s quite an investment in both time and money, and change can feel scary, so you chat through some future-self scenarios and go deeper into the results they’ll get working with you.

Your confidence never waivers because you know your worth and the value of your offer.

You’ll lead this conversation through to a Hell Yes or a No, it won’t be left with a Maybe.

Regardless of the Yes or No, you know you’ll be satisfied because you’ve had this great conversation with your dream client – which is the best way to spend an hour – and ultimately, if it’s a No today, you never know what the future holds.

It’s all possibility and it’s all exciting!

You remain calm and in the flow, because your emotional wellbeing and self-worth isn’t wrapped up in any of this, your value remains the same regardless of the outcome of this conversation so there’s no fear in your proposal.

Your confidence and self-belief shine through, and your dream client basks in this, feeling happy with themselves for having found the exact right person to give them the exact right solution!

And if you always make them feel this inspired, motivated and excited – it’s going to be a great journey along the way!

So inevitably, your dream client says those dream words:

‘I’m in – what next?’

Again, this is a cause for celebration as you congratulate them on making such a fantastic decision and flow through logistics of payment and on-boarding.

The call winds-up with your dream client knowing exactly what’s going to happen next, you end the call on a high and immediately send through payment and booking details.

Wonderful feel-good sale done. Voila.
