Do you get to the end of the day and wonder where the time has gone and what you’ve actually accomplished all day?

Do you sit staring at your screen without actually doing anything?

Are you aimlessly scrolling through social media without engaging with anyone or achieving anything?

All of these are warning signs that you’ve lost focus.

I’m not going to sugar coat it – this is serious, and you need to take action to fix it immediately.

If you carry on as you are, you can kiss your business and freedom from being a slave to the 9-5 goodbye.

In this blog I’ll guide you through some reasons why you could have lost focus, and give you some tips on how to get it back.

Stress can play a huge part in your inability to focus, because your brain is distracted.

If there are loads of things going on, whenever you try to focus, your brain will quite literally rebel because it’s already dealing with way too much.

If there are things that are causing you stress, working through them, managing them, dealing with them will really help you start to focus again.

If your business isn’t in alignment with your purpose it can really throw your focus way off.

It may be that you aren’t even sure what your purpose is, and that’s distracting you.

Or it may be that your business doesn’t really bring you any joy, and you don’t actually like what you do or who you do it for.

If that’s the case, is it any wonder you are struggling to stay focussed each day?

It could be time for some soul searching – ask yourself what you really love, what brings you joy, what drives you forward.

Think of work you’ve done and clients you’ve served that have put you on Cloud 9.

This is a step in the right direction to understanding your purpose, and when you start moving your business into alignment with it, your focus will return.

When a plane takes off, they have a set destination and flight path and only an act of God or Engineering will cause them to veer off that course.

If you don’t have a clear destination and flight path, every little thing that crops into your field of vision will distract you and pull you in every which direction.

Having a clear vision of what you are working towards will hold you in focus.

I advise my clients to have vision boards, write goals, do visualisation exercises…whatever it takes to bring your vision to life and hold it close to your heart – it will massively increase your ability to focus.

This Is A Biggie.

Structure is what will hold you on purpose and make sure you achieve your vision.

Structure is also what loads of business owners neglect to put in place.

If you haven’t got a Business and Marketing Plan – get one, fast.

If you haven’t set goals and targets – set them, fast.

These are the structures that will hold you in focus, without them in place you will wander off following every bright shiny object you see and are sabotaging your efforts to achieve your vision.

Final one for this blog but The Distraction Is Real!

Social Media is an incredibly wondrous creation, but it can also drive us to distraction in a very self-destructive way.

Assess how you are using social media and my advice is to spend your time very wisely.

Set time/s each day to be on socials and don’t stray into the black hole outside that / those time/s.

When on the socials be strategic – share high value content and spend a good portion of your time engaging with your community.

If you are being inundated with emails you never read – delete them all and unsubscribe.

If you are following people who trigger you, give you comparison-itis, or make you feel fearful in any way – unfollow them immediately.

Social media can serve you in so many incredible ways, but only if you let it.

Have you found this helpful? I’d love you to comment below which of the above you think have been pulling you out of focus.

And if you need a helping hand to pull you back into focus, everything I’ve talked about in this blog is covered in The Aligned Client Attraction Academy, and I’d love to welcome you to join me there.

Happy Focus,
