YOU CAN GROW YOUR OWN WAY – AND STILL BUILD A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS

Have you noticed how samey everything’s become?

⇢︎You read a post that you could swear you’ve read a hundred times before.

⇢You see a selfie that’s an echo of all the other selfies you’ve seen.

⇢You watch a video or go through a group challenge and it all feels so…familiar…

It’s like someone’s selling a formula on ‘How to be authentic and stand-out from the crowd’ and everyone’s bought it…so everyone has the same ‘authentic’ voice and looks exactly like everyone else.

What the hell’s going on around here?

It seems to me that the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions of a few, have become the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions of the many, and the nameless, faceless noise is deafening.

I get it – it can all feel very overwhelming and before you know it, you find yourself getting sucked down the rabbit hole of same-iness and next thing you know – you are just like everyone else.

HORROR.

I felt myself getting sucked into the niche-rabbit-hole when I was thinking about my knowledge and experience, the way I coach, and my coaching clients – did I have to carve everything up and Be Known For One Thing Only?

[I think all the ‘niche’ talk can be quite misleading and dangerous, but more on that another time!]

My coaching clients are all so different – they aren’t all in the same industry, the same age, or have the same ambitions.

They’re all super different in what they do, why they do it, and the impact they want to have on the world.

But there are a few things that bind them…

Firstly – they’re all mega lovely people, and I mean MEGA lovely!

It’s something that adds HUGE value to my group coaching programmes actually, to have all of these wonderfully open and empathetic people supporting each other – it’s really incredible to be part of it with them!

The other thing they have in common, is they’re all happy to go their own way. Break the mould. Do what feels right for them.

They aren’t interested in following the pack, doing and being the same as everyone else.

They’re interested in exploring their gifts and talents, feeling confident and happy with themselves, finding their own unique voice, and doing work they love for people who truly light them up.

And maybe that’s down to my coaching guidance, and maybe that’s because the ‘march to the beat of my own drum’ people are the people I attract.

You see, I don’t guide everyone to do the same thing, at the same time, in the same way.

I don’t try to persuade my clients to buy expensive funnels, design flashy websites, constantly hound people by email, or ruthlessly claw their way to the top.

I respect and admire my clients desire to forge their own path, and rather than pushing them into the same square hole, together we carve a new one that fits them perfectly.

I encourage them to step so fully into their light, it temporarily blinds us both!

They embrace the full expanse of their gifts and lovingly package them together – yes in a structured and strategic way that makes complete sense and will create a financially stable business…but in their own way.

So…maybe I do have a niche after all…maybe my niche is people who want to go their own way, in their own time, while staying super true to who they really are.

Maybe my niche is people who aren’t bothered about following the pack, being with the cool kids, or carving down their gifts to offer one-thing-only.

Maybe spending some time thinking about my own niche in my own way wasn’t such a bad idea after all…because now that I fully recognise it, I’m kinda obsessed!

So this is it. And this is me.

With all my quirks and unique experiences and gifts, not afraid to just be me and let the chips fall where they may.
