What is self-selection?

When your audience self-qualify as hot prospects, moving from passive ‘I feel inspired by you’ to proactive ‘I’m ready to buy from you NOW’.

Having self-selection strategies in place saves you time and fills your pipeline with clients who are really ready to do the work.

Side Note: Sales isn’t about convincing someone to buy from you, it’s about giving them the opportunity to decide to work with you.

Harsh Truth: If you aren’t engaging with qualified prospects on a daily/weekly basis, chances are your sitting on a dried-up-pipeline…so it’s time to get the clients flowing!!

Here are 3 Self-Selection Strategies you can implement today:

1. High Converting CTAs

CTA’s are the bit you put at the end of your post/story/video to prompt your audience to decide if they are interested in engaging / working with you.

Here are some examples:

• ‘Got questions? My DMs are open!’
• ‘If you need help with XYZ, DM me ‘word’ and let’s get you [benefit of working with you]!’
• ‘Want more info on [what I talked/posted about]? Then you don’t want to miss out on my freebie! DM me ‘Freebie’ to grab it!’
• ‘Have you ever [felt this way/struggled with this] too? I’d love to know!’
• ‘Want more info on [benefit of your offer]? DM me ‘info’.’
• ‘What do you want to learn next? (a) [option] (b) [option] (c) [option] (d) other. DM to let me know!’

2. Powerful Self-Selection Phrases

Help your audience see themselves working with you by asking them questions that help them decide if they’re ready to do the work.

Here are some examples:

• ‘Do you…’
• ‘This is for you if…’
• ‘If you…’
• ‘Ready to see it in action?’
• ‘You’re on the right track, because…’
• ‘Picture it this way…’
• Add a killer CTA at the end to prompt the next-action.

3. Profile CTA

Your profile can do a lot of the heavy-lifting when it comes to guiding your audience to self-qualify as hot prospects. 

So use a compelling CTA to help them decide to either move into your DMs or join your email list (aka download your freebie).

Here are some examples:
